Turkish Mother Tongue Lessons

Tulip Institute was established in 2021 to support the mother tongue development of bilingual children of Turkish origin living in the Netherlands. The Institute operates a Turkish Language Project throughout the Netherlands to ensure that the mother-tongue development of children of Turkish origin is supported.

Tulip Institute focuses on raising awareness about the maintenance of Turkish as the mother tongue in Europe and its transmission to future generations. In this context, it aims to support the Turkish language development of bilingual children of Turkish origin living in the Netherlands.

Mother tongue learning is of undeniable importance for building the fundamentals of an inclusive society that appreciates cultural diversity. To reach these goals, the mother tongue development of bilingual children should be supported by providing education in academic settings, which proceeds through a curriculum prepared by professionals.

Tulip Institute contacts school administrations, non-governmental organizations, and foundations for a classroom provision where in-person Turkish lessons can be given. Besides, the Institute organizes the teaching staff and provides in-class teaching materials for all classrooms.
